The CFRE Exam is an important step in your career, so be sure that you prepare properly! ALDE (the Association of Lutheran Development Executives) will be offering CFRE Study Days on August 13 and 20 in St. Louis. It is a two-day class, so we suggest you attend both days, not just one or the other. The Days are intended for those who are well into the CFRE certification process or who are very interested in pursuing their CFRE certification. Please note for your own planning purposes, your CFRE exam application must be postmarked by August 28, 2009 in order for you to take the exam between October 30-November 21, 2009. You can still participate in the CFRE Study Days if you intend to take the exam in 2010. Register now!

August 20 - 10:15 a.m.-3:30 p.m. Central TimeThe Study Days will be a two-day event in a webinar format with experts speaking on the six domains of the exam: Current and Prospective Donor Research, Securing the Gift, Relationship Building, Volunteer Involvement, Management and Accountability. Michelle Janssen, Dorothy Kaestner, Mark Hofman and Keith Lund are the speakers, and the Certification Task Force will also be there, giving helpful hints.
On both days, time will be set aside for discussion. Those at the group sites will have their own, moderated discussions. As each Study Day is planned to be around six to seven hours, these discussions will help break up the sessions and allow for digestion of the material. There will also be time for digestion of food as lunch discussion breaks are likewise built into the schedule.
The cost for the Study Days is $50 per person. If you can't make it to St. Louis you may register your own site for $350 - this is quite a deal, considering how other study courses charge around this much per person. We also have other sites available … check them out on the individual registration page. People who are not ALDE members are more than welcome to attend.
